Why did you choose Ka Haka ʻUla o Keʻelikōlani?

Since I was born in Hilo and raised in Kalihi, Oʻahu, my thoughts were to return back to the sands of my birth to begin my studies at KHʻU.

What is the value of Ka Haka ʻUla to you?

Whereas KHʻU is a total Hawaiian language immersion school, this is an appropriate place to seek knowledge through the medium of Hawaiian language.

How did you grow as a person and how was your life impacted because of your time at Ka Haka ʻUla?

Since I've graduted with three degrees from Ka Haka ʻUla, the college has been a educational foundation for me. Being that I have taught at KHʻU for 32 years from 1988-2020, I have seen this educational institution grow and I have also seen numerous amount of graduates, with that number steadily growing every year. I am truly blessed to be a graduate of Ka Haka ʻUla. Mahalo nui.
